Abstract

Steamed sponge cake is no stranger to society because it is a type of traditional cake
recipe that has been passed down for generations. Many small children and adults like it because
of its attractive shape and sweet and savory taste. Steamed sponge is easy to find in traditional
markets, supermarkets, and big and small cake shops. Even now many are sold by peddlers
around. This community service activity is training in making steamed cakes for mothers in
Komplang Hamlet. This activity aims to help create new creative ideas in the processing of wet
cakes that can take advantage of simple ingredients and are easy to find in local stalls.
Furthermore, they can practice themselves at home and can even be sold to supplement their
income. The methods used in this activity are demonstrations, direct observation and interviews.
The result of this activity is that mothers can be creative, can make their own sponge cake without
buying from outside when there are certain events so they can reduce the snack shopping budget
