Abstract

Bulak Pepe Hamlet, Banyubiru Village is dominated by buffalo breeders. The number of buffalo owned by the villagers reached 700 heads. This condition has the potential to develop the village as a tourist village so that the village economy can increase and village economic independence can be realized. The purpose of this study was to describe the potential of Bulak Pepe hamlet to be developed as a tourist village. The research method is descriptive qualitative with several stages, namely observation, identification, and meaning of data. The results of the study were that the number of buffalo owned by each resident was quite large, ranging from 1 to 35 heads, buffalo cages were available and separated from the houses where residents lived, the maintenance system was still communal or traditional, Bulak Pepe hamlet was surrounded by a river which became a place for buffalo to bathe and drink. There is a habit of herding buffalo twice a day, in the morning and evening. The large number of buffalo owned by the people of Bulak Pepe and its vast place have the potential for African- style tourist destinations.
