Social media activities are now something that people do very often. The use of internet media in everyday life is considered normal and considered a necessity. However, using it will certainly have both positive and negative impacts. One of the negative impacts is conveying fake news (hoaxes) which are spread via social media. In order to prevent the impact of the spread of fake news (hoaxes). In this regard, the activities carried out have positive meaning to increase public awareness in responding to the large number of hoax news circulating. Therefore, through community service activities the aim is to provide understanding to the public regarding the ITE Law. Law U no. 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions, Disseminating information about internet use that has positive value by knowing the limits in accordance with applicable regulations. The method of implementing legal counseling that we carry out for the community of Kandang Sapi Village, Kec. Jenar District Sragen, Prov. Central Java by carrying out several stages, namely: The steps and stages of solving problems and providing solutions in this activity include:: Preparation, Activity Material, Main Activities, Evaluation and Report Preparation. Thus, this training results in an increase in individual knowledge and skills in preventing hoaxes, namely being intelligent and constructive in responding to, receiving and disseminating information received and being able to avoid the spread of hoaxes. The implication is that individuals are able to minimize the spread of hoaxes and their negative impact on society.Downloads
