Abstract

The key to success in increasing one's knowledge is interest in reading. By reading diligently, a person can obtain various information that has never been obtained before, so as to increase his insight. This is very important for students. Based on the results of observations at an elementary school from one of the elementary schools in Kandangsapi Village, Jenar, it reveals the fact that the low interest of students in reading is influenced by the lack of a library and books at SD Negeri Kandangsapi 2. In addition, the purpose of this community service activity is to provide facilities for students to read books comfortably. The mini library has a diverse collection of interesting reading books, including textbooks, stories, fairy tales, and so on. With an abundant collection of reading books, elementary school children will be more interested in visiting the mini library and in addition, they can also gain knowledge from these books, so as to increase their interest in reading through the use of mini libraries. In this mini library development activity at SD Negeri Kandangsapi 2, 3 methods were used, namely observation, preparation of mini library procurement and implementation of activities. The hope of developing this mini library is that students have an interest in reading in themselves. The mini library at SD Negeri Kandangsapi 2 is expected to play a role in improving the literacy of students at SD Negeri Kandangsapi 2.
